Cerebral Palsy or CP is a brain condition characterized by a complex of symptoms, including impaired motor functions and brain functions due to brain damage. For example, speech, hearing, vision, and cognitive abilities may be affected. The condition manifests in various forms, depending on which part of the brain is damaged and the underlying causes.
Motor activity impairments can often be noticed immediately after the child is born, although additional symptoms may emerge as the brain develops. Signs of CP in a 1-month-old infant include weak or tense posture, flaccid facial and neck muscles, irritability, crying, and the persistence of reflexes that typically disappear with age.
Early treatment is crucial. Massage and specialized exercise programs based on kinesitherapy are among the methods employed by the Marusych Rehabilitation Center in Kryvyi Rih, which effectively address this condition and significantly improve quality of life in the future.
