In 90% of the population, a pelvic tilt has been observed to some extent since childhood, which not only affects posture, but also causes other problems. The pelvic bones play an important role in the body. They protect the internal organs from external damage, are a support for the spine, maintaining its axis of balance, and contribute to a uniform load on the lower limbs. Pelvic tilt is a pathological, asymmetric arrangement of the pelvic bones in relation to the spine, which entails changes in the spine itself, ligaments, back muscles, as well as in the nerves that go from the spinal cord to the organs.
This pathology often develops in childhood and adolescence due to a violation of posture due to improper organization of the training place or frequent sitting in a “skewed” position in front of a computer or gadgets.
Pelvic tilt is the result of various congenital or acquired diseases. The main ones are:
- dysplasia and chondropathy of the lower extremities;
- imbalance of the muscular frame;
- injuries of the bones and muscles of the pelvis (fractures, bruises) in case of accidents, sports, excessive physical exertion;
- flat feet, uneven leg length;
- congenital anomalies of the spine, trauma, scoliosis.
The main symptoms of a twisted pelvis are:
- change in gait with falling on the right or left leg;
- the inability to stand straight for a long time due to the reflex tilt with support on a shortened leg;
- aching pain in the sacral region, in the lower back and groin in the thighs;
- repetitive ankle injury of the same leg;
- increased fatigue of the legs;
- Difficulty aligning the knees, ankles and legs.
If you do not start treating the pelvic tilt in time, this can lead to varicose veins of the lower extremities, to irreversible destructive processes in the hip and knee joints, constant pressure on the pelvic organs, constipation, or frequent urination.
If you notice similar symptoms in your child, contact the Marusich ORC. Experienced rehabilitation doctors will help you choose an individual set of exercises that will help reduce pelvic tilt. Since the musculoskeletal system is still being formed in children, it is easier to correct and the treatment process is faster. The course of classes in our center will help your child maintain a beautiful posture, a firm gait and step into the future with confidence.
